Shared services impact on service catalog strategies

Shared services environments are creating quite a buzz when it comes to service catalogs. CIOs have varying opinions, and it’s hard to determine whose opinion is “right.”

According to Pierre Bernard, manager at Pink Elephant Inc., “A catalog is a catalog. No matter how your services are provided, the way you present services should be transparent to the business.”

However, Alla Johnson, CIO of Liberty Diversified International Inc. disagrees. Johnson believes in building a strategic plan that lays out the services available for the next 3 years and when they’ll be implemented.
